Visiting the Jail!

This past Monday, March 5 was an experience I shall never forget.  I received my packet from Fieldprint on Saturday.  This is the company I am using for my FBI background check.  So during lunch I headed to the Young County Jail to have my fingerprints taken on the forms supplied by Fieldprint.  When I arrived at the jail I was greeted with a pleasant, "What do you want?"  I told the officer I needed to be fingerprinted and his response was, "Why?"  I guess there are a multitude of reasons people head to the nearest jail for fingerprinting???  Anyway, after I explained that it was for job purposes she buzzed me through several heavy steel doors straight to an island of desks and computers in the middle of all the holding cells.  The cells encircled the computer and all had large plate glass windows as well as windowed doors.  Needless to say, I was the entertainment of the day for many of the unfortunate men who happened to be visiting the Young County Jail.  During the 25 minute process there were countless faces standing at the window watching our every move.  Talk about being a bug under a microscope!  I couldn't get out of there fast enough!  So on the way back to school I dropped the prints in the mail and await my FBI clearance.  Another task checked off my list.

  1. That was way different from my fingerprint experience. I guess I'm really luck to live in a small town with big city attributes.
