Teacher Talk 2

I received My Teacher Talk 2 earlier this month.  It is a letter/newsletter we receive to get news about our upcoming trip.  I thought you might  be interested in reading it.

Dear Shawn Turpin, May 15, 2012 Your English Medium Teacher (EMT) support team wishes you well. We look forward to keeping in touch with you throughout the next three months and then, we really look forward to meeting each one of you at our ADEC orientations in mid-August. We will continue to communicate with you through your recruitment agency, using Teacher Talk as our main communication source. Please continue to ask process/relocation questions through your recruitment agency. They are well-informed and have excellent staff, dedicated specifically to assist you. Another reminder: please keep your email accounts open, and unchanged, for as long as possible before departing to the UAE. Email will continue to be our primary means of communicating with you, maybe right up until you get on the plane. Here in ADEC Central, we continue to work hard on the UAE end of your employment processing and to plan for your various orientations, relocation arrangements, housing needs, etc. We are expecting 650 new English Medium licensed teachers to join us for the start of the 2012/2013 academic year. In the moment, we have one ADEC team recruiting in the UK/Ireland and another team recruiting in North America. We anticipate that we will achieve our recruitment goals before the end of May.   Many of you will have finished compiling your required documentation, or are now closer to getting all your documents together. Within the next few weeks, we will be submitting your documents to the proper government Ministries within the UAE. We will then follow up with them regularly to ensure that you get into the country on time, and as efficiently as possible. The documentation process may look daunting to you in the moment, but it always works out and simply become part of joining an expanded world. Just continue to be patient and flexible. All will be well. In the next 3-4 weeks, you will receive a travel form through your recruitment agency. All 650 teachers will travel into the UAE within a 4-5 day period. Timelines will be tight as we want to work respectfully around Ramadan and Eid Ul-Fitr. We will not be able to handle individual requests to travel on different dates. It becomes far too complex. You will get more information in the next Teacher Talk.   On a personal note, many of your support team was privileged to recently enjoy an Eagles concert in Dubai. The outdoor venue was fabulous. “Hotel California” sounded as good now as in the 70’s, maybe even better. Several of your support team has just purchased tickets to Madonna on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, on June 3rd and 4th. Fortunately, many of the best international entertainers include Abu Dhabi and Dubai on their tours. You will want to secure your November Formula 1 Race tickets once you get here.
