All You Need Is Love....and sleep and water!

Hello all.  Yesterday was my first official day here is Abu Dhabi and unfortunately for you it wasn't very exciting.  I was definitely jet lagged, dehydrated, and a little overwhelmed.
I met up with several teachers for breakfast after having slept only 4 hours.  I was so wired upon arrival I just couldn't get to sleep.  The breakfast buffet is absolutely wonderful and the only free meal of the day.  Service ends at 10:30 so I am making sure I get there daily to get in a good meal.  The fresh fruit and omelets are wonderful and there are multitudes of foods I have never seen before.  I am trying new foods a little at a time so as not to overwhelm my stomach.  The last thing I need is an upset tummy!
After breakfast we all headed to the Abu Dhabi Mall which is attached to our hotel.  I was able to exchange some money for dirhams and then headed to a hyper mart for some much needed supplies.  I purchased some water, coke zeros (lucky Russ), pb&j, bread, and ramen.  I began to feel a little light headed so I headed back to the room for a day of water and rest.  I also did a little research on what I needed to get my phone up and running her in AD.
Around 11:30 pm I headed back to the mall which was in full swing!  Due to Ramadan families were out in full force eating and shopping after sundown.  I purchased a sim card, minutes, and data and then enjoyed some pink berry frozen yogurt with fruit.  Frozen yogurt is a treat Haley and I enjoy together every time we head to town so boy did it make me miss my sweet girl!
I arrived back and the hotel and had a little trouble trying to get my phone up and running with the unlock process so that job will continue on tomorrow.  I am attaching a few pictures I took and hope for some great things to share on my next day of travel.
A taste of home Arabic style!

My first  dirhams.
