This evening Russ and I had dinner with a group of 10 teachers at the Lebanese Flower restaurant. We all ordered a variety of platters and tried many new dishes. We began with hummus of course with salads, veggies, and grape leave wrapped bites which looked like egg rolls. I sure wish they had tasted like egg rolls! The hummus was good on the pita along with garlic and the chopped salad. We then had large platters of meats with fried flat breads and another platter with chicken and home fries served on another type of hummus. We finished the dinner up with large platters of watermelon. The food was definitely a new and different experience for us but the fellowship was great. We laughed and enjoyed the evening with this group of new friends. We are meeting lots of teachers from all areas of the world. Tonight's group was loaded with teachers from Canada. Several of us plan to head to an EID festival downtown tomorrow. I am hoping to have some henna done on my hands if we come across a booth. This is an activity that many women participate in during EID.
I've seen you guys around...I didn't know you were "Shawn". My goodness. I'll say hello next time. I went to Lebanese Flower as well. The falafel was great.
